Weekend Beer Buzz 09/05/2013

Did a little Phishin’ last week.

phish at dick's '13

Not a bad pic for a camera.  So Mrs. Insane keeps suggesting we write an article about the beer scene in the Phish lots.  Our history with craft beer in the lots goes back quite a few years, when I had my first Sammy Smith’s Oatmeal Stout at a stop in Deer Creek, IN.  I think the sign read “What the f***, it’s just a buck!”.  At any rate, last Summer, I struck up a deal and scored some Bell’s Expedition Stout for the cellar and the idea for an article was born.

This year was dominated by East Coast brews not normally found out in these parts.  Heady Topper from The Alchemist in Vermont was probably the highlight.

heady topper @ phish

The “#1 Beer on Planet Earth” in the lots?  We also caught wind of Harpoon, Long Trail and dozens of local goodies too.  We even caught up with a team of homebrewers from Boulder that were serving up a really tasty Citra IPA and a Sour Apple Saison.  Phish fans know their beer.

Phish & Craft Beer…  Or even just music and craft beer.  Your thoughts?  We nearly did a full fledged article last year.  Should we tackle this one next tour?  E-mail us or leave a comment on our Facebook Page and let us hear from you.

But seriously, this weekend is stupid busy in the craft beer world.

Oh yeah, and football’s back!
